# Connect Notion

> Use this when you want a Notion custom agent to call Magic Meal Kits MCP tools. You copy the values from the app's MCP connection screen and add them to Notion as a custom MCP.

A Notion **custom agent** can call outside tools through an MCP server. Once you connect the Magic
Meal Kits MCP, the agent calls Magic Meal Kits tools, such as sending a Paymint invoice or
extracting a PDF, right inside Notion, without a Make scenario.

<Note>
  * Notion agents are only available on a paid Notion plan.
  * The app's **MCP connection** (MCP 연결) screen opens on Magic Meal Kits server **4.13.8 or
    later**. If you're on an older version, [upgrade](/installation#upgrading-redeploy) first.
</Note>

## 1. Copy the values from the app

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the MCP connection screen">
    At [make.magicmealkits.com](https://make.magicmealkits.com), open **MCP connection** (MCP 연결)
    in the left menu and pick the **Notion** tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick the tool scope">
    Under **Tool scope** (도구 범위), choose the tools the Notion agent gets. If you only use Paymint,
    pick **Custom** (직접 선택) and check only **Paymint** (Paymint 결제). The fewer tools you give,
    the less often the agent picks the wrong one.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the four values">
    Use the values shown on the Notion tab as they are.

    | Field | Value |
    | - | - |
    | MCP server URL | Your service URL followed by `/mcp` |
    | Connector name | `Magic Meal Kits` |
    | Auth header key | `X-API-KEY` |
    | Auth header value | Your API key |
    | <Info>Screenshot coming soon: Notion tab on the MCP connection screen</Info> | |
  </Step>
</Steps>

## 2. Add a custom MCP in Notion

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Add custom MCP">
    In Notion, go to **Settings → Connections** and click **+ Add custom MCP**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the values and connect">
    Enter the URL and name, choose **API Key** as the auth type, then enter the header key and value.
    Click **Connect** and the list of Magic Meal Kits tools appears.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn on tools in the agent">
    In your custom agent's settings, pick the Magic Meal Kits connection you just added, turn on only
    the tools you need, and save. If the agent needs to read or write Notion pages or databases, set
    those in its permissions as well.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test it in chat">
    Ask the agent something that uses a Magic Meal Kits tool. For example, with Paymint turned on, ask
    "Show me my last 5 invoices". If you get results, the connection is done.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Your API key goes into the header. Anyone in the Notion workspace who uses this connection ends up
  calling your Magic Meal Kits server, so check permissions in a shared workspace. If the key leaks,
  replace it by following [Reissue (rotate) your API key](/operations/reissue-api-key).
</Warning>
